December the sheriff offers amnesty for people whose minor crimes and violations have snowballed from avoidance and �failure to appear� into arrest warrants. Operation A Second Chance � running through December 31 � allows people to get a new court date on their original charge without facing arrest or jail. Fines are waived. Those with non-violent misdemeanor and traffic warrants are eligible for the amnesty. Felony warrants, or warrants involving alleged violent behavior, do not qualify.

3. If you're ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you. This is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON A YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage: A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor,d in the back seat. B.) If you're parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT'S ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. And better paranoid than dead.
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun and you're not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times. Even then it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!
8. Women are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP. It may get you raped or killed. Serial killere Ted Bundy was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
9. Another Safety Point: A friend heard a crying baby on her porch and called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." The lady then said it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way. Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women hearing hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. Pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby This e-mail should be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.
Forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well. Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safe than sorry.

"Broadly speaking, there are two types of people in the world. One type is known as leaders, and the other as followers. It is no disgrace to be a follower. On the other hand, it is no credit to remain one. Most great leaders began in the capacity of followers. They became great leaders because they were intelligent followers. With few exceptions, the man who cannot follow a leader intelligently cannot become an efficient leader. The man who can follow a leader most efficiently is usually the man who develops into leadership most rapidly. An intelligent follower has many advantages, among them being the opportunity to acquire knowledge from his leader.
11 Secrets of Leadership
1. Unwavering courage based on knowledge of self and occupation. No follower wishes to be dominated by a leader who lacks self-confidence and courage. No intelligent follower will be dominated by such a leader very long.
2. Self-control: The man who can't control himself can never control others. Self-control sets a mighty example for one's followers the more intelligent will emulate.
3. A keen sense of justice: Without a sense of fairness and justice no leader can command and retain the respect of his followers.
4. Definiteness of decision: The man who wavers in his decisions shows that he is not sure of himself and cannot lead others successfully.
5. Definiteness of plans: The successful leader must plan his work, and work his plan. A leader who moves by guesswork, without practical, definite plans is comparable to a ship without a rudder. Sooner or later he will land on the rocks.
6. The habit of doing more than paid for: One of the penalties of leadership is the necessity of willingness, upon the part of the leader, to do more than he requires of his followers.
7. A pleasing personality: No slovenly, careless person can become a successful leader. Leadership calls for respect. Followers will not respect a leader who does not grade high on all of the factors of a pleasing personality.
8. Sympathy and understanding: The successful leader must be in sympathy with his followers. Moreover, he must understand them and their problems.
9. Mastery of detail: Successful leadership calls for mastery of the details of the leader's position.
10. Willingness to assume full responsibility: The successful leader must be willing to assume responsibility for the mistakes and shortcomings of his followers. If he tries to shift this responsibility, he will not remain the leader. If one of his followers makes a mistake, and shows himself incompetent, the leader must consider that it is he who failed.
11. Cooperation: The successful leader must understand and apply the principle of cooperative effort and be able to induce his followers to do the same. Leadership calls for power and power calls for cooperation. "
