April 2004

The 1st Ever Alumni Golf Outing was a great success.  Thank you to everyone that was able to attend, and for the donations from Gene Wesely, Matt Brooks, Joe Tousignant, Beth M. Burgstahler, and Marilyn Okleshan.  It was great time meeting all the brothers over the years and exchanging stories.  There are plans to make this an annual event, so mark your calendar for next year most likely to be around April 25th-National Alumni Day.

April 1, 2004.  The brothers and pledges, at the time, did Adopt-a-Highway which we have been doing twice each year since 1991.  Located on Highway 14 between Mankato and Janesville.

Many of the brothers are finishing up this semesters Jr Achievement in area elementary schools.  Jr Achievement is a program where students teach different areas of family, city life, and business to students for 5 weeks.

Our Brotherhood activity this semester was a picnic/volleyball tournament, on April 17 at 7 Mile Creek Park.

The semester is now over the last meeting was April 29th.  Everyone agreed it was a great year, we accomplished a lot and plan do even more next year.  We are adding 19 great brothers to alumni status.  Best of luck to all of them!

Finally I would like to announce my replacement as VP Alumni Relations.  Ryan Linneman EI# 792, he's a great brother that wants to keep up the momentum of connecting with alumni, by encouraging more alumni to come visit our chapter.  Any updates you can now send to him, especially if you move or get a new email address.  He's also open to suggestion on ways to improve our alumni relations program. email: [email protected] and [email protected]

In addition from me, its been a great semester I have updates on 85 alumni addresses.  Please use the chapter to connect with other brothers and stay in touch.  Although I am done with school this Saturday, my big plan is that we have a 45th Anniversary in 2005, the last time an official anniversary was in 1995 with a couple hundred brothers and guests.  If you would like to plan any alumni events contact the current VP Alumni Relations.  Its been a great 3.5 year since I joined and wouldn't miss it for the world.  Also I am still looking for a summer internship and full-time job. My Resume.

Amy Briggs is back from Iraq safely.  She was able to stop by for a little bit at the golf outing, and attend our last meeting.  She appreciated all the support she had while overseas.

Katie Johnson says: "I am currently living in Henderson with Jay (still no ring) and loving the country life. In March I received a new position at GE as a Program Material Issuance Associate. We added a new addition to our home, a 3 year old while Lab named Sonny. My cat Jenkin's was a little upset about the situation, but they've grown to love each other."
