Slovenia issued one stamp on the
occasion of UEFA European Football Championship on 9.5.2000. Slovenia's qualification for the
EURO 2000 Final Tournament as Qualification Group Two runners-up and play-off winners over
Ukraine came as great surprise to Slovenia's football fans. Slovenia's Group C opponents
at the Europe's biggest football event, due to take place between 10 June and 2 July 2000,
will be Yugoslavia, Norway and Spain. For the first time ever, two countries will share
the staging of the tournament - Belgium and the Netherlands.
