FETT'S EARLY YEARS
Jaster Mareel may be a fictional origin that
Fett concocted to cleverly cover his true origin and
identity.
The Clone Wars transpaired around 35 years
before A New Hope. We know from numerous sources that Boba
Fett was involved in the Clone Wars, so if he got involved
when he was 15, that would make him no younger than 50 in
Empire Strikes Back.
Twenty-Three years before Luke Skywalker met
Obi-One Kenobi and started his destiny to becoming a jedi,
Boba Fett was known as Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel.
Jaster Mereel, a young law-enforcement officer on
the world of Concord Down, had killed another Protector. And
although the Protector had been corrupt, disgracing his
office and uniform, Mereel was still imprisoned for the
murder. Against the wishes of his pleader, the young
arrogant man remained unrepentant to the trial court, and
Jaster Mereel was exiled from Concord Down, stripped of all
he owned.
It is reported that Jaster Mereel's last
statement before exile was "I bow to no one and give service
only for cause." (Some have argued that the quote ended with
"credits" rather than "cause.")
After being exiled he joined the Imperials and
became an Imperial Stormtrooper. Becoming disgruntled about
this current occupation, Jaster went AWOL. He then either
joins the Mandalorians (the Mandalorians Warriors are an
ancient group of warriors who fought the Jedi Knights in the
Clone Wars) or finds Mandalorian battle armor, and becomes
the Bounty Hunter Boba Fett.
According to various sources, Fett is not a
Mandalorian but he has "strange ties" to them. It may be
that he retains these trappings in memorial to some unknown
friend or foe, or perhaps as a reminder of an era gone by.
Boba Fett has modified the Mandalorian armor to
suit his own needs.. The helmet has a macrobinocular
viewplate with 360 degree field of view, motion and sound
sensors, infrared capabilities, microcomputer, internal
comlink with his ship, the Slave I, and a broadband antennae
to intercept and decipher transmissions.
His wrist gauntlets house lasers, a miniature
flame projector, and a fibercord whip/grappling device; a
backpack jet pack includes a turbo-projected magnetic
grappling hook with twenty-meter lanyard. Fett also carries
kneepad rocket dart launchers, spiked boots, a
concussion-grenade launcher, a Blas Tech EE-3 rifle and
various unknown weaponry.
Fett wears Braided Wookiee scalps (latest sources
suggest that it may be Padwan Jedi Braids that Fett has
killed) over his right shoulder to complete the outfit.

What is certain is that no single Hunter has
attained as high an acquistion record as Fett. Although Fett
is a loner, he has been known to work with other Bounty
Hunters, Fett has always emerged as the one who catches the
prize.
Once engaged in a hunt, Fett uses sources of
intelligence apparently available only to himself. Fett is
extremelly methodical and unpredictable. He takes his time
and makes his final move on the bounty at a place and time
of Fett's own choosing.
Witness of Fett in action remark on how he
continually strikes when his opponent least expects it. And
how Fett never shows no remorse for his Bounty's fate.
One of Fett's first known Bounties, was a job
hunting Hallolar Voors. Voors had angered Jabba the Hutt by
daring to establish an independent spice trade. The search
for Voors led Boba Fett to the penal colony Planet Jubilar,
where Fett chanced to see a young Han Solo fight for his
life in the Regional Sector Number Four's All-Human
Free-for-all extravaganza. Boba Fett developed an almost
unconscious respect for the brave young humanoid who would
someday become his most elusive Bounty. Hallolar Voors ended
up dead by neural toxin.
Years later, when Solo was smuggling spice for
Jabba, a powerful Hutt lord named Aruk offered a tempting
sum for the Corellian's capture. Fett cornered Han on Nar
Shaddaa, and injected him with a drug that turned Solo into
a zombie who was at the mercy of his captor. Had Lando
Callrissian not shown up at exactly the right time, in
precisely the right place, Solo would not have lived. Then
Jabba actually paid Boba Fett to lay off of the hunt for the
Corellian, for reasons unknown.
Sometime in the years before the Battle of Yavin,
Boba Fett had his first meeting with R2-D2 and C-3PO. On the
desert Planet of Ingo, the droids had become the property of
speeder racer Thall Joben and his friends, Kea Moll and Jord
Dusat. Joben had angered the crime gang leader Sise Fromm.
Sise hired Boba Fett to kill the young racing team at the
Boonta races, a job Fett took as a favor he owed Fromm, even
though Fromm himself had a bounty on his head and was wanted
by Jabba the Hutt.
Fett's robot, BL-17, befriended C-3PO and turned
him against R2-D2 while Fromm's gang put a bomb in Joben's
racing ship, the White Witch. Fett chased Thall and Kea, but
they escaped, joining in the speeder race. At the same time,
C-3PO learned of the treachery of BL-17 (who was then
crushed by falling machines) and discovered the bomb planted
in the Witch. Unaware of the bomb, Fett turned his attention
to Joben, following Joben into the race. Fett used every
weapon at his disposal. But when Fett tried to use magnets,
Fett accidentally pulled the bomb onto his own speeder and
had to escape at the last minute before it blew up. Angry at
the damage done to his droid, his speeder, and his Quarry,
Fett took Fromm and his gang hostage, to turn them over to
Jabba the Hutt, where he received a great reward for them.
