One of 7 Box Sets - All Similarly Packaged.
Released in 2001 by Collectables, and subtitled The Best Doo Wop Groups
Sing Their Original Hits, this 7-volume (70-CD) set (1194 tracks) can be a
real bargain, provided that you do not already own many of the
CDs which make up these collections. All Jerry Greene has done here is
to re-package 70 CDs from Collectables' stock of doo wop group CDs into 7
10-CD packages (volumes). I note that each individual CD "clamshell" is "punched" to indicate that it is a "cutout."
Volumes can be obtained either indivdually, or as an entire collection.
The only "value added" here is the price - about $60 per volume, or the
full collection for $350. Worthwhile if you really want, and
haven't already obtained, more than 3/4 of the CDs in the package.
