ALBUM REVIEW

THE VERY BEST OF THE EL DORADOS -
(Collectables CD # 7245)

This 2000 release from Collectables contains a total of 25 tracks by the Vee-Jay label's El Dorados - a comprehensive collection of their work.

The El Dorados were Pirkle Lee Moses, Jr. (lead), Louis Bradley (tenor), Jewel Jones (second tenor and baritone), James Maddox (baritone and bass), Arthur Basset (tenor) and Richard Nickens (baritone and bass).

All the El Dorados music you could want in one CD.

Extensive liner notes by Chicago R&B historian Robert Pruter round out this package. There's a great El Dorados article by Marv Goldberg on line, so there's no need to go into extensive detail about their career here.
