Outlook

The honeymoon is officially over for second year head coach Jeff Tedford as he and his staff face massive challenges, including a brutal scehdule. Realistic expectations of consecutive winning season will increase the pressure on this football team to enjoy a successful campaign.

Things Will Be Golden If...

A running back steps up to replace all-conference performer Joe Igber and injured Terrell Williams. New quarterbacks Reggie Robertson and Aaron Rodgers need a ground game to counter lack of experience, especially against an agressive K-state defense in the opener.

Wide Receiver Geoff Macarthur finally plays to his potential and puts up monster numbers.

The Bears win two out of their first three games and gain confidence for a minefield of a Pac-Ten schedule.

A depleted secondary can overcome the loss of two starters and contain opponents potent passing attacks.

They Will Look Forward to hoops...

Tedford cannot make a final decision on the Quarterback situation in the first three games of the season. The level of difficulty for an inexperienced QB in the Pac-Ten is overwhelminge even without the hijinx of a controversy. In Eugene, Tedford played both A.J. Feeley and Harrington with moderate success.

Mistakes and a shaky kicking game place all of the pressure on Robertson or Rodgers.
