Bethlehem started admitting 3rd degree malnourished children on February 2, 1999. We had served 15 children ages 0-12 for the first month and since then we had already served 93 malnourished children coming from the neighboring squatter areas of Bulacan.

At present, we have 16 children at the center who are undergoing medical treatment and proper nourishment undertaken by our nurses, house parent and volunteer doctors.

Bethlehem House of Bread is a simple apostolate which is pure in its ways and true to its goal of carrying into action the Lord's words, "Whoever welcomes a little child such as these children for my sake welcomes me and whoever welcomes me, welcomes not me but Him who sent me" (Mk 3:37). It is finding love and serving Christ in malnourished children of the poor of whom the house shall give care. Eventually, what God desires to happen to his chosen community shall be realized.

The Bethlehem apostolate's main objective is to bring about normal physical health and spiritual nourishment to children of the poor. For those who will participate in this spiritual undertaking it aims to devote time, heart and hands in serving Christ in His least in the spirit of love and service to nurse back to normal health the poor malnourished children, to coordinate efforts with various groups to complement the services in the House, to engage parents, benefactors, friends and co-workers in regular spiritual exercises, and to provide continuous improvement and structuring of the House's condition for better operation.

Bethlehem is headed by apostolate Director, one secretary, one nurse and at the same time a teacher of Day Care Center, 3 house parents and one social worker. We have also volunteer doctors and other volunteer workers to augment the working force of the House.

Some of our activities are soup feeding, medical mission, regular care for children, regular spiritual exercises like daily mass, holy rosary, Holy Hour, visit to the Blessed Sacrament and Bible sharing session.

We have also a Day Care Center catering to 80 children of the poor families in the area.

Malnourished children are brought to the House and stay there until they are healthy enough. We  provide them sufficient food, milk, vitamins and medicines to ensure that the children gain the desired weight.

There are several co-workers and volunteers taking care of the daily activities of the House. Doctors and nurses regularly visit the House to attend to the needs of the children walk-in patients.
