| My Profile |
Ek Ajnabi It was during 1996, when I attended an Awaaz concert not realising that would change my life forever. After the concert was over and my sister and I left the concert hall in high spirits as we had fairly good seats and the concert was fab when someone thrust a leaflet in my hand, which I placed in my handbag as I wasn't a litter bug. It must have been a few days later when I stumbled across the leaflet, which read UK first Pakistani pop band Ajnabi in concert. I thought why not give them a try as it was a local band and my dad wouldn't moan about the travelling distance. I attended the concert with my mum. We arrived a wee bit early and managed to get really good seats, in fact second row from the stage. I sat there waiting patiently for the concert to start not realising I would be seeing the person that I really would take a liking to instantly. The concert commenced with a performance from a dance group, I thought the lead dancer was good looking. He was definitely someone my sister would find attractive, as I waited anxiously for Ajnabi to come on. When Ajnabi came on and started performing their first song. I was impressed even my mum said they sounded good and I could go to their concerts, as they were nearby with reasonably priced tickets. Anyway, I continued to watch the lead and the more I watched him, the more I grew attached to him and thought about him. When the concert was over, I couldn't stop raving on about the group, as I thought they were absolutely brilliant. |
