Mer's mom and dad are keeping busy chasing after her these days.  Meredith is getting more confident on her feet.  She has a "little walker" on wheels that she likes to hold on to and push around.  Today she even learned how to turn it and went room to room, as proud as can be.

Meredith's Grandma Randolph is visiting this week and the two of them are having lots of fun.  Meredith loves seeing her Grandma first thing in the morning (she knows that she's in a day for fun!)

Today Meredith also tried her hand in feeding herself with a spoon.  It was a messy, but fun affair.  Meredith eats more and more different foods everyday.  She is not quite, but almost completely weened.  She such a big, growing girl!

Meredith played hostess today, as her parents had a party on this beautiful summer day.  Meredith enjoyed playing with the other babies in attendance and loved watching and interacting with all the people.  Although with all the chaos, she was a little clingying to mommy and daddy.  So many disappointed people wanted to hold her, but will have to wait for another, more quiet day.

This was a fun weekend for Meredith at the Bjella family reunion in Wisconsin.  Meredith had lotsa quality playtime with all her relatives and enjoyed one of her favorite activities: swimming.  Everyone enjoyed seeing her and many pictures of the weekend were taken.

Meredith went on a bike ride with her dad today.  She's gone on a few rides in the Burlee so far, but she is still getting used to it.  She has definitely made clear that she is not a fan of the bike helmut.  On the way home she stopped crying and relaxed for a bit, watching the houses and trees and cars, eventually falling asleep.

Meredith continues to improve her sense of balance.  Today she let go of her dad's knee while standing, and balanced all by herself for four seconds!  (Yes, her dad did count.)

This last week, Meredith's top two teeth poked through and now she is able to bite stuff in half (like cooked carrots and cheerios) with ease.

In the evening Meredith developed another new habit.  She has always liked pulling her toys out of things--boxes, drawers, chests, paper bags, and other toys.  This evening for the first time, she put things back in.  She has a toy birdhouse with birds that she always pulled out and spread across the room.  Tonight she gathered the cute little birds around her and put them back in the birdhouse.   She of course then proceded to pull them out again, and put them back in again--for about ten minutes straight.   Her mom was very excited by this new cognative development.

Meredith accompanied her mom and dad to church today, but couldn't sit still.  Eventually her mom and dad took turns entertaining Mer in the back hallway (with all the other parents and young kids).  While exploring, Meredith climbed up the stairs (about 10 of them) with no assistance.  Her dad of course "spotted" her closely the whole way.  Meredith was quite proud of her accomplishment; she wanted to try going down (headfirst) too, but her dad thought it might be good to wait for another day.

Meredith an an interactive baby.  This morning while watching Sesame Street (yes, she just loves Elmo!) Meredith start to "dance" to a song.  As soon as she heard the music, she stopped playing with her toy and starting to do a sitting, sway/bounce move.  When other songs came on later in the program, she did the same thing.

Meredith is also mimicking more.  She is trying to repeat the words from her dad and mom.  When the cat meows, Meredith squeeks back in a very similar fashion.

On the sad news front, Meredith injurred herself today.  While pulling up she lost her grip and hit her mouth hard on the railing--even drawing a couple drops of blood.  It was very hard for her parents to see her hurting so, and Meredith wailed loudly.  But she quited down quickly when she saw the cat walk by.  Meredith loves watching (and chasing) Maggie so much, her parents wonder if the cat has a spell on her.
