Meredith's Journal
Movie Time
It has been a few active weeks since the last journal entry. Meredith has entertained both sets of grandparents this month and her great grandparents from Iowa. As always, she had lots of fun with her visitors and was ready to show them her new tricks. One of her newest discoveries is how fun it is to stick out her tongue, especially when it's windy!
Meredith also flew with her parents (her second airplane trip) to her parents' old home city of Washington, DC. Her parents friends all got to meet her for the first time: Diana and Jason and Amy and Dan.
Meredith is getting over a cold she caught probably on the airplane. It hasn't been fun, but she is a trooper. She still wants to play and eat and do everything else. She passed on her cold to her dad, who was completely wiped out by it for a couple of days.

More visitors this afternoon. Several friends from Meredith's former ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class stopped by this afternoon. An already tired Meredith wore herself down even more with all the excitement, but one can't stop to nap when there are visitors to entertain. By the end of the day she was wiped out.
Meredith is moving much more confidently. She goes from a sitting position to a ready-to-crawl position easily. She can't really move forward in a crawl yet, but for the first time today, she started scooting backwards on her stomach (making her way underneath the couch). This type of backwards inching often precedes genuine crawling. Her parents guess they'll find out. Meredith also is trying to pull herself up on things. Sitting upright in her crib, she can pull herself up from the mattress a couple inches for a short time. Her body isn't ready yet, but in her mind, Meredith is ready to start moving around!
