2002 Visit to the Philippines |

Monday, 13th January 2003 - We continued with the feed the children program and handed out
aussie children's clothing to children in the pre school - the dresses
handed out were donated through a local Dapto Pre School - their help was
appreciated and I will be thanking them personally and giving them photos
when I return. |

Well the mission is almost over for me, I now have Peter Crowther, from Illawarra Sunrise Rotary Club (One of our largest supporters) and his partner Leonora with me and they will be leaving with me to Cebu on Saturday 18/01/2003. |
|

|
Tomorrow we are delivering enough wool and stuffing to make 76 trauma dolls, to the ladies co operative of Doljo. The dolls will be purchased by the 300 Rotary Village Club and then used to give to the children in the next Interplast Mission which we hope will take place in March April this year. We are also doing another feeding program this afternoon. |

This morning I had a call from my adopted grand daughter, Dysebelle, from Ubay, she was one of the first children operated on by Interplast in the Mission sponsored by Nick de Rooy, myself and Corrimal and other Rotary clubs in District 9750. They are coming to say farewell on Friday next. I have arranged for another Rotary Village Mission in the first two weeks of January, 2004, any one wishing to come with us please contact me asap as I need to commence arrangements on my return to Australia. |

I now have an updated presentation on our mission 2003 and would appreciate any opportunity to attend your club or business to share it with as many people as possible.

Also we found where Mrs Ezperenza works (the lady we support who lived in the nipa hut called the 'leaning tower of Pisa.') I have often been asked why she works, well here we are I finally found her cleaning up weeds on the side of the road, using a crude blade. We found out that she gets paid $2.00 AUD per day, when she can work. Yesterday I bought her and Gertrude Fodut new dresses, they cost me 121 pesos or $4.00 AUD each, I will give them to them today. It will be a thrill to see these to old dears with new clothes.
