There is no greater feeling on earth than the adrenaline rush that is experienced on roller coasters by millions of enthusiasts each year on coasters around the world. My first expreience on a roller coaster was by way of the Demon at Six Flags Great America, and I have obsessed over them ever since. As a kid I looked forward to nothing more each year than a trip to Six Flags, and that same excitement and passion for coasters stays with me to this day. I decided what better way to display my love for roller coasters, than to create a website dedicated to it. I have created pages to highlight all of the coasters I have ever been on, along with photos and info. for each one. You can also find info. on the parks, as well as updates on ride construction, and news from the coaster world. So with that, I welcome you to my site.

Site Help
If anyone else out there has a site of their own that they would like me to add a link to, I'd be more than happy to do so, just drop me a line in my guestbook or otherwise send me an e-mail at [email protected]. I'd like to get a little more awareness added to my site as well, and so I'd appreciate adding a link to my site on your page if I do the same. Contact me if you're interested, thanks.

America's first HALFPIPE coaster now open at Six Flags Elitch Gardens

Thrill seekers and snowboarders now have something to do in the summer

DENVER, CO -- You don't have to be an extreme boarder these days to thrash and spin your way up and down a halfpipe. Nor do you need any snow.

Six Flags Elitch Gardens opens yet another thrill ride at Colorado's Coaster Capital - HALFPIPE. A ten-story-tall structure, the Halfpipe is the first of its kind in America and is an exaggerated and exponentially exciting take on hitting the slopes with a snowboard.

"The Halfpipe is perfect for Six Flags Elitch Gardens and Colorado," said Tara Tongco, park spokesperson. "It's a tribute to the winter adventures the mountains offer and an outrageous thrill that everyone can enjoy -- whether or not you've been on a snowboard." - - - - - more info

Cedar Fair, L.P. completes acquistion of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure

SANDUSKY, OHIO, April 8, 2004 -- Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: FUN) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, located near Cleveland, Ohio, from Six Flags, Inc. in a cash transaction valued at approximately $145 million.

Six Flags Worlds of Adventure is a family-oriented theme park situated on approximately 690 acres, including a 50-acre spring-fed lake.  The park offers its guests a wide variety of rides and attractions, including 10 roller coasters, several childrens areas, a water park, and various live shows, and entertains more than 1.5 million guests each year, principally from the Cleveland/Akron, Youngstown and Pittsburgh markets.

The transaction involves the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of the park, including the adjacent hotel and campground, but excludes all animals currently located at the park, which are being retained by Six Flags.  Cedar Fair will assume the complete operations and management of the park as of April 9.

The Partnership also reported that it has completed a new long-term financing arrangement to fund a portion of the cash purchase price.  A private placement of $75 million has been arranged to provide funds for terms of seven to eleven years at a fixed rate of 4.72%.  The Partnership has funded the balance of the purchase price through an expansion of its revolving credit facility, but intends to enter the equity market later this year to complete the permanent funding of the acquisition. The park, which has been renamed
Geauga Lake, is on schedule to open for the 2004 season on May 1.
Knott's new thrill ride shoots off in time for Christmas '04

BUENA PARK, Calif. - Cowboys in Ghost Town, Native Americans in Indian Trails and a brand new Silver Bullet flying above it all. Knott's Berry Farm expands its arsenal of thrill rides with the addition of Silver Bullet, the western themed roller coaster set to debut on Christmas Eve 2004. The high-flying $16 million coaster shoots onto the Ghost Town scene, soaring into Fiesta Village and back over Indian Trails. Chrome plated and floorless, Silver Bullet promises to be a blast.
The new attraction, designed and manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B & M) of Monthey, Switzerland, continues Knott's Berry Farm's transformation into Southern California's leading thrill ride adventure park. Since its acquisition of Knott's in December 1997, Cedar Fair L.P. has made an ongoing commitment to adding world-class thrill attractions. As the seventh roller coaster to be added to Knott's, "Silver Bullet gives thrill seekers yet another world-class ride to add to their list of all-time favorites," proclaimed Jack Falfas, General Manager and Vice President of West Coast Operations for Cedar Fair, L.P. Knott's will also add RipTide, another high-flying spinning thrill ride with "720 degrees of attitude" to the Boardwalk area in the Spring of 2004.
The Demon
The Demon was the first roller coaster I ever rode on, and as far as I am concerned, it's still the best. I'm not really sure why I like it so much, but I think its just the whole atmosphere that surrounds the ride, and the ride itself that just draws me to it. The fact that the Demon screams at you as you leave the station is freaking awesome, the rock loops are sweet, and the fact that the track goes right into the mouth of a rock demon is nuts. Its a pretty smooth ride considering its age, and you just can't beat the double loop, double corckscrew. If you ever get the chance to go to either of the Great America's, be sure to take a ride on the Demon.
