1 ¶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children
of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow,
the persons shall be for the LORD by thy estimation. 3 And thy estimation
shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years
old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after
the shekel of the sanctuary. 4 And if it be a female, then thy estimation
shall be thirty shekels. 5 And if it be from five years old even
unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male
twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 And if it be from
a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall
be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation
shall be three shekels of silver. 7 And if it be from sixty years
old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen
shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 8 But if he be poorer than
thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest,
and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed
shall the priest value him. 9 And if it be a beast, whereof men
bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such
unto the LORD shall be holy. 10 He shall not alter it, nor change
it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all
change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be
holy. 11 And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer
a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before
the priest: 12 And the priest shall value it, whether it be good
or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be.
13 But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part
thereof unto thy estimation.
14 ¶And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the
LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad:
as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15 And if he
that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the
fifth part of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall
be his. 16 And if a man shall sanctify unto the LORD some part of
a field of his possession, then thy estimation shall be according
to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed shall be valued at
fifty shekels of silver. 17 If he sanctify his field from the year
of jubile, according to thy estimation it shall stand. 18 But if
he sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall reckon
unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto
the year of the jubile, and it shall be abated from thy estimation.
19 And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it,
then he shall add the fifth part of the money of thy estimation
unto it, and it shall be assured to him. 20 And if he will not redeem
the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall
not be redeemed any more. 21 But the field, when it goeth out in
the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the
possession thereof shall be the priest's. 22 And if a man sanctify
unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is not of the
fields of his possession; 23 Then the priest shall reckon unto him
the worth of thy estimation, even unto the year of the jubile: and
he shall give thine estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto
the LORD. 24 In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto
him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of
the land did belong. 25 And all thy estimations shall be according
to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.
26 ¶Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD'S
firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep:
it is the LORD'S. 27 And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall
redeem it according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth part
of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according
to thy estimation. 28 Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man
shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and
beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed:
every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD. 29 None devoted,
which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely
be put to death. 30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the
seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it
is holy unto the LORD. 31 And if a man will at all redeem ought
of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. 32 And
concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever
passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. 33
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he
change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change
thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. 34 These are the
commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of
Israel in mount Sinai.

1 ¶ Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the
violent man; 2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually
are they gathered together for war. 3 They have sharpened their
tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from
the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. 5 The
proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net
by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. 6 I said unto
the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O
LORD. 7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast
covered my head in the day of battle.
8 ¶Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his
wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. 9 As for the head
of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips
cover them. 10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast
into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 11 Let
not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt
the violent man to overthrow him. 12 I know that the LORD will maintain
the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. 13 Surely
the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall
dwell in thy presence.

1 ¶ LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me;
give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. 2 Let my prayer be
set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands
as the evening sacrifice. 3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth;
keep the door of my lips. 4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing,
to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me
not eat of their dainties.
5 ¶Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him
reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break
my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities. 6
When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear
my words; for they are sweet. 7 Our bones are scattered at the grave's
mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. 8 But
mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave
not my soul destitute. 9 Keep me from the snares which they have
laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity. 10 Let the
wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

1 ¶After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and
sent them two and two before his face into every city and place,
whither he himself would come. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The
harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore
the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into
his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among
wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute
no man by the way. 5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say,
Peace be to this house. 6 And if the son of peace be there, your
peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as
they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house
to house. 8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive
you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick
that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come
nigh unto you. 10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive
you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do
wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the
kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12 But I say unto you, that
it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that
city. 13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for
if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have
been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in
sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre
and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15 And thou, Capernaum,
which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. 16 He
that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth
me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17 ¶And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even
the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said
unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold,
I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over
all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt
you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are
subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written
in heaven. 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I
thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid
these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto
babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22 All
things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who
the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son,
and he to whom the Son will reveal him. 23 And he turned him unto
his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see
the things that ye see: 24 For I tell you, that many prophets and
kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not
seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not
heard them.
25 ¶And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying,
Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto
him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering
said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with
all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind;
and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast
answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. 29 But he, willing
to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem
to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment,
and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by
chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw
him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when
he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the
other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where
he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34 And went
to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set
him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of
him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence,
and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him;
and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay
thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour
unto him that fell among the thieves? 37 And he said, He that shewed
mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
38 ¶Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain
village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her
house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus'
feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much
serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that
my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she
help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha,
thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing
is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not
be taken away from her.
