1 ¶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children
of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your
habitations, which I give unto you, 3 And will make an offering
by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing
a vow, or in a freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make
a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock: 4 Then
shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering
of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin
of oil. 5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering
shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice, for one
lamb. 6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat offering two
tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil.
7 And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third part of an
hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the LORD. 8 And when thou preparest
a bullock for a burnt offering, or for a sacrifice in performing
a vow, or peace offerings unto the LORD: 9 Then shall he bring with
a bullock a meat offering of three tenth deals of flour mingled
with half an hin of oil. 10 And thou shalt bring for a drink offering
half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour
unto the LORD. 11 Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for
one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid. 12 According to the number that
ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one according to their
number. 13 All that are born of the country shall do these things
after this manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet
savour unto the LORD. 14 And if a stranger sojourn with you, or
whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering
made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall
do. 15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation,
and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance
for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be
before the LORD. 16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and
for the stranger that sojourneth with you. 17 And the LORD spake
unto Moses, saying, 18 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say
unto them, When ye come into the land whither I bring you, 19 Then
it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the land, ye shall
offer up an heave offering unto the LORD. 20 Ye shall offer up a
cake of the first of your dough for an heave offering: as ye do
the heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye heave it.
21 Of the first of your dough ye shall give unto the LORD an heave
offering in your generations.
22 ¶And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments,
which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses, 23 Even all that the LORD
hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD
commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations; 24 Then
it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge
of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young
bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD,
with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the
manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering. 25 And the
priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children
of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and
they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the
LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:
26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children
of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all
the people were in ignorance. 27 And if any soul sin through ignorance,
then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth
ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make
an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. 29 Ye shall
have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him
that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger
that sojourneth among them.
30 ¶But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be
born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD;
and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because
he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment,
that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they
found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. 33 And they
that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron,
and unto all the congregation. 34 And they put him in ward, because
it was not declared what should be done to him. 35 And the LORD
said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation
shall stone him with stones without the camp. 36 And all the congregation
brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he
died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
37 ¶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 38 Speak unto the children
of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders
of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put
upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: 39 And it shall
be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember
all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek
not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to
go a whoring: 40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments,
and be holy unto your God. 41 I am the LORD your God, which brought
you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your
God.

|
|
1 ¶A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight
is his delight.
2 ¶When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 ¶The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness
of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 ¶Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth
from death.
5 ¶The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the
wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 6 The righteousness of
the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken
in their own naughtiness.
7 ¶When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the
hope of unjust men perisheth.
8 ¶The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh
in his stead.
9 ¶An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through
knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 ¶When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and
when the wicked perish, there is shouting. 11 By the blessing of
the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth
of the wicked.
12 ¶He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man
of understanding holdeth his peace. 13 A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14 ¶Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of
counsellors there is safety.
15 ¶He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he
that hateth suretiship is sure.
16 ¶A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.
17 ¶The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is
cruel troubleth his own flesh.
18 ¶The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth
righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19 ¶As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth
it to his own death.
20 ¶They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD:
but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 ¶Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished:
but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 ¶As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which
is without discretion.
23 ¶The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation
of the wicked is wrath.
24 ¶There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that
withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25 ¶The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall
be watered also himself.
26 ¶He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing
shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
27 ¶He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that
seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28 ¶He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous
shall flourish as a branch.
29 ¶He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and
the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 ¶The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth
souls is wise.
31 ¶Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much
more the wicked and the sinner.

|
1 ¶Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning,
they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had
prepared, and certain others with them. 2 And they found the stone
rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 And they entered in, and found
not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were
much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining
garments: 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces
to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among
the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake
unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must
be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and
the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 And
returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the
eleven, and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna,
and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them,
which told these things unto the apostles. 11 And their words seemed
to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. 12 Then arose
Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld
the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in
himself at that which was come to pass.
13 ¶And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called
Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And
they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15
And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned,
Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were
holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them,
What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another,
as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was
Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem,
and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these
days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto
him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in
deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief
priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and
have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which
should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the
third day since these things were done. 22 Yea, and certain women
also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the
sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying,
that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was
alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre,
and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe
all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered
these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses
and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures
the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village,
whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward
evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with
them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took
bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31 And their
eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their
sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within
us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us
the scriptures? 33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned
to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that
were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared
to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and
how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 ¶And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of
them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified
and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And
he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise
in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself:
handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye
see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his
hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy,
and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they
gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And
he took it, and did eat before them. 44 And he said unto them, These
are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you,
that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law
of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand
the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus
it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third
day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached
in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye
are witnesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send the promise
of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until
ye be endued with power from on high.
50 ¶And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his
hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed
them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52 And
they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53
And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
