This was the scene of 3 bloody battles over the weekend. Pegasus Bridge was on the main route to the Last Stand and who ever held the bridge could easily send re-enforcement's to the hive and other areas of the continent.
For this reason the Speed Freeks launched an all out offensive. With the roar of their engines they charged forward, down the 12 foot long table . Defending the bridge was a contingent of Eldar, who had allied with the imperial forces for reason of their own.
As the red vehicles tore up the road, with there green skinned warriors screaming in joyous anticipation of a battle. The eldar communication lines hummed with activity. The eldar turned and left, leaving the orks both disappointed and somewhat confused.

"What could have caused this ancient race to turn and flee?"

The orks lost no time in securing the bridge and neither did the imperial forces lose time.

Imperial Guard Commander musters his troops and armour.

The imperials dispatched an armoured force made up of Leman Russ battle tanks, chimeras, hell-hounds, sentinels and basilisks, backed with companies of infantry to seize the bridge. As these armoured units ploughed onto the road they could see in the distances the blood red vehicles of the speed freaks.

Slowly the armour rolled forward, a tight formation, forming a solid block of armour, with 3 leman russ, side by side. Behind these were the 3 hellhounds, then came the 3 chimeras. This armoured block was truly something to see as the engines purred and carried the force forward. This formation would prove to be the guards biggest and most costly mistake.

With unparalleled speed the orks threw themselves forward onto the guns of the imperials, there were bikes, buggies, trukks and tracks. This time they were going to be a Waagh.

Over the near deafening sound of the orks engines came a distant rumble, which filled the Imperials with terror. It was a sound the Imperial knew well. It was the sound of an incoming Basilisks shell. Somehow the green skins had captured a Basilisk and had set it up behind the bridge, it was now shelling its' previous owners.

The imperial armour, with infantry support moves ever closer to it's objective of the bridge

The shells rained down hitting 2 of the lead tanks throwing their crews inside around in confusion. This was all the orks needed, from the trukks jumped burna boyz and tank busters. What ensued would be remembered as the bloodiest few minutes of the entire battle, with tanks exploding to the left and right, with turrets being blown across the road. Tanks behind the front line tried desperately to pull off the road only becoming immobilised when their tracks broke in the road side ditches and tree stumps. Orc bikes came down one flank through a hail of lasguns, auto-cannons, heavy bolter rounds and las-cannon fire, but the guards by now terrified by the never ending advance aim was sadly lacking, dropping only 2 of the bikes. It is hoped that they can receive forgiveness from the emperor in their death.

With their armour gone and more orks appearing as re-enforcement's the imperials fell back, for now the bridge still lay in Ork hands and it would be left to commander Dante and Tycho to lead a last ditch struggle to seize the bridge.

Day 2

The might of the Blood Angels were to assault the bridge their enemy a renegade group of guard, having made a treaty with the Oks and decided to stop anyone from crossing the bridge. They were equipped and in a defensive position.
In the furry that was to be the last battle for Pegasus bridge the might of the Blood Angels would suffer casualties beyond belief.
The captured basilisks rained shells down, with one volley destroying a Death Company. The Land Raiders of the Blood Angles fell soon after, halted half way down the road.
Despite valiant charges by Dante and Tycho the Angels stood little chance.
Dante was cut down only feet away from the bridge. The angels had failed, the battle field soaked in their blood.
