I was going to write this from Lord Dantes perspective but he is still recovering
from having an earthshaker shell landed on him by the imperial guard so I'll
have to do!
Myself and 3000 points of Blood Angels arrived in Leicester eagerly anticipating an excellent weekend of gaming with the forces of good and evil preparing to do battle and with the potential for conflict between the space marine forces and imperial guard following some interesting discussions on the web board.
Friday evening was spent finalising plans between the imperial forces and trying
to ignore the comments from the ork players about looted land raiders and kustom
force fields (as if the dam machine isn't hard enough)
Saturday morning arrived and brought with it an eldar super heavy grav tank
and a Titan!!!
Everyone sorted themselves out and I along with William were taking on the might of Ghazgkhull in the garage on an very well set out table ( Last Stand) which we had to take from 3000pts worth of orks (you get a lot of orks for 3000 points) We had a combined force of Blood Angels and Dark Angels and after 7 hours of gaming we were triumphant having made Ghazgkhull run off, however William and I agreed we must not get to cocky or we will get our arses kicked tomorrow.
On the Sunday I found myself with 4000pts of Blood Angels assaulting a bridge held by 4000pts of Imperial Guard who had defected from the imperium. The biggest problem was the fact, I had to get all my troops in a fairly small deployment zone and then charge up a 12ft long table whilst being shelled by multiple ordinance weapons that the guard forces had insisted on taking. Well to cut a long story short, just about every marine was killed Dante had an earthshaker shell land on him and my brand new Land Raider crusader was one turn away from being able to assault the guards front line before it was badly damaged I did however kill quite a few tanks and half the guardsmen that were on the table and after about 5 hours decided to run away before being completely wiped out.
It was an excellent weekend with some very good games taking place over 4 or 5 excellent tables especially the Last Stand table. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and would like to thank Rob for all his hard work in preparing every thing for the weekend and everyone who played during the weekend for playing the games for making them excellent games.
