The northern hemispheres polar ice cap is a barren place, where little grows over than ice crystal forests. It is due to enter its long winter months starting in May; the everlasting night (approximately 3 months of continuous night) envelops the ice cap in a dark foreboding blanket. It is here that the planetary forces established a series of listening post and communication centre for Leic-Arrian.
But now it has gone quite…..
No communications have been received for several days

Table 4x4 (though this will hopefully be increased to 6 x 4)
Points 1000 each side
Special Rules - Night fight, infiltrators
Comms bonus If you hold the communication centre / complex with no enemy in the complex, then allies support troops arrive 1 turn earlier on table on one specific table per turn. It is presumed you can communicate and control their movements with greater ease.

The ice cap saw a confrontation between Chaos and the Imperial Guard, their goal to capture and hold the communication relay station 13, which was the last fully operational station on Leic-Arrian 4.

Holding it would allow easier and faster communication, along with aiding the arrival of reserves. With the perpetual night engulfing all present this would prove to be no easy goal to accomplish.

Imperial Forces deply in depth with armour in support of their infantry.

The rattling snipers proved to be the first to reach the station, running along the gang walk they came, though the welcome party was not what they were expecting. It was a pack of gene-steelers. The brief but bloody battle that ensued left the rattlings in pieces. The battle between the gene-steelers and the chaos was more fortuitous to the forces of chaos.

Whilst this was going on the now blood soaked ice fields was littered with the Imperial dead and dying, vehicles were left burning lighting up the night sky. Giant shadows could be seen dancing across the ice.

With the imperial losing ground and men the retreat was sounded, leaving the chaos forces to prepare for an expected Imperial counter strike.

Yet the force that entered the field to threaten the chaos was not imperial but Eldar.

The force that had retreated earlier form Pegasus Bridge appeared here on an all out attack on the base. Yet their goal was not to capture it but to destroy it.
But why destroy the asset? Simple to remove it from assisting other on the planet, including their previous allies the Imperials.

The 2 wraithlords charged forward under a hail of fire from Landraider Las cannons and Oblitorators guns, but the stations defenders didn't stand a chance. The fists of the mechanised ghost warriors tore the super structure to pieces.

Yet the Eldar were to have a surprise, as a force of Necrons appeared possibly to extract revenge on the jungle battle.

The battle was brief with casualties mounting on all sides. Eventually the eldar and necrons withdrew leaving the chaos forces only the shell of the communication station.
