Welcome to the homepage of the mighty Third Platoon, "Raiders"!! We are located at Camp Greaves, on the north side of the Imjin River less than Three kilometers from the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean Peninsula.
We present this internet site to help our family and loved ones keep abreast of what we are up to. We hope that you enjoy the pictures presented here.
Training in Korea is challenging. The difficult terrain and rough weather creates an optimal training ground for the infantry. Please be advised that your loved one will get a lot out of his tour in Korea both professionally and personally. However, we ask you to keep his spirit up by regular email and mail correspondences. We are located by ourselves north of the river, cut off from civilization most of the time.

STANDS ALONE!
3RD PLATOON, Charlie company, became quite possibly the first platoon level unit in the whole army to stage its own DINING IN.
It was held on 14 December 2000 at the NOTRI Club, less than three kilometers from the DMZ. This page is under construction, and will be avaible to show all of tis 50 pictures sometime in January, following our next exercise. Please be patient!

Following our excellent showing in the field, we rested and relaxed in the town of Munsan, Korea.
Here are the pictures, as some family members are worried that we train all the time and never play.

Our squads were evaluated against other squads in the battalion. The battalion commander stated that our squads were without equal in their tactical proficiency.
Due to the high OPTEMPO of the operation, few pictures were taken.

This is CPT Dave Park, the former Raider6. A ittle bit about what I went through since Winter of 2000. I served as PL, 1st Anti-Armor PLT, D/1-506 from January to May of 2001. I then served as the HHC XO of Eighth US Army in Yongsan, Korea from May 2001 to May 2002. During the Winter of 2001, I was selected by the Army Special Forces for further traiing after passing the SFAS. In July of 2002, I reported to Ft. Benning, GA, where I am currently attending Infantry Captain's Career Course. I will continue with 6 more schools in the next 12 months or so, to complete my SF officer's "pipeline", after which I expect to be posted to 1SFG in the Far East. Feel free to contact me for whatever reason. As a former Raider, you will always be a VIP in my eyes.
