PFC Burgett, James
PFC Burgett joined the RAIDERS on 9 January, 2000.  He loved the RAIDERS so much that he has extended his hardship tour in Korea for an additional year, until 9 January, 2002.  PFC Burgett has taken the 30 days free leave option for his  extention in the land of the morning calm.

PFC Burgett has been a fine rifleman in the RAIDERS platoon, always excelling himself in every endeavor.  We are thankful that he will be an asset to us for another year, providing continuity in this highly volatile unit.

PFC Burgett was born on 28 July, 1981 at John Day, Oregon.  Growing up in Mount Vernon, Oregon, PFC Burgett dreamt of becoming a highly dedicated infantry soldier for Uncle Sam.  Upon graduation from Grant Union High School in 1999, PFC Burgett realized his life long dream of becoming a highly trained infantryman by joining the United States Infantry on his 18th birthday, 28 July, 1999.

PFC Burgett was shipped out to Ft. Benning, GA, where he was trained in the fine art of infantrymanship with the 1/50th Infantry Traning Battalion.  Upon graduation, he was sent to Korea, to the RAIDERS Platoon, in C Company, 1-506th Infantry at Camp Greaves, on the Western edge of the DMZ.

He cites exciting field exercises, superior leadership at platoon and company level, and a desire to stay away from heavy units back home, as some of the reasons for extending in Korea. We hope that he finds his future duties just as challenging and fulfilling as his first one was.
