Powerful telling of the toll the atomic bomb took not just on those it killed, but on everyone who experienced it. In an instant half a million people were reduced to castaways floating on an ocean of non-sense. The film shows the impossibility of getting on with everyday life in the wake of such unfathomable destruction.
