Season 7

The New York Football Giants are the heavy favourites entering the season, prompting Lawrence Taylor to hold a pre-season press conference to address major questions on everyones minds: LT press conference

Season 7 Spreadsheet

Week by Week Results --- Final Standings - The Play-Offs

LT says Dr. Z is a smart man.

The Rules

3 human players each with 4 teams battle it out for the Tecmo Bowl. 2 Divisons (6 teams each) with 2 of each guys team in each divison play a 10 Week season to determine who goes to the play-offs. The 10 Week season is broken up into playing your 4 non-controlled teams in your divison twice each (1 home, 1 away) and 2 inter-divisons games (1 vs each other human player). At the end of the 10 weeks 60 game sched the top 3 teams in each divison make the play-offs with the 1st place team in each divison getting a bye for the first week of the play-offs. Play-offs are single game elimination and feature the #2 vs. the #3 in each divison, with the #2 seed getting the game at home. The winner of each game faces their divison's winner with the #1 seed at home. The 2 winners face in the Tecmo Bowl. The play-off tie breakers are as follows: Head-to-Head record, Record vs. Common Opponets, Strength of Schedule, PF-PA. If it is still tied after that then we have no contengency plan, but what are the odds?

The Draw

To determine who gets what teams we held a draw for teams. Broke the teams into 3 groups of 4. NYG, CHI, SF, LA in one, DEN, SEA, CLE, IND in the 2nd, and DAL, MIA, WSH, MIN in the 3rd. The non-picked team in Group 1 would go to Kyle, to Derek in Group 2 and Cam in Group 3. Anyway the Draw resulted as follows:

Kyle Derek Cam
1. Chicago 2. New York 3. Los Angeles
4. San Francisco 5. Seattle 6. Denver
7. Cleveland 8. Indianapolis 9. Miami
10. Washington 11. Dallas 12. Minnesota

Draw Analysis

1st Tier - Derek getting the New York Giants is big. With only 6 career NYG losses they have to be favoured to win the whole thing. Cam drew LA to his disappointment, leaving Kyle with San Fran and Chicago. Kyle could struggle with SF as he has limited SF experience.

2nd Tier - Derek got to double up on Tier 2 teams, giving him Seattle and Indy. Slightly disappointing. Cam drew Denver, and is eyeing play-offs. Kyle non-shockingly drew Cleveland, who he can't get enough of.

3rd Tier - Cam got 2 Tier 3 teams with Miami and Minnesota. It could be a long season for Cam. Derek drew Dallas and was all smiles, leaving Kyle to go 0-10 with Washington.

The Divisons

To determine the divisons a random draw was held with the only rules being that obviosuly only 2 of the same human teams per divison and the NYG can't be with LA or WSH. Divisons play a MAJOR factor in the determining who will come out on top and what teams will have play-off hopes and dreams.

The Divisons

The East: Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Seattle, Dallas, Washington

The West: New York, Cleveland, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Miami, Minnesota

The Divison Analysis

The Big Winners: Denver, typically.

The All Important Inter-League Games

Weeks 4 and 7 are the inter-divison games and play a big part in what teams have the easy road to the play-offs and what takes are getting the shaft. More notable Week 4 games include: CLE @ LA. Some bigger Week 7 games are: NYG vs. DEN, SF vs. LA.

The Big Winners: Dallas (vs. MIN, @ MIA), New York (@ WSH, vs. DEN)

The Big Losers: Seattle (vs. SF, @ CLE), Los Angeles (@ CLE, vs. SF), Washington (vs. NYG, @ IND)

Vegas Weighs In

Each teams odds of winning the whole thing:

New York Giants win Tecmo Bowl VII. The Giants, losers of a shocking 2 regular season games, played a strong post-season amid much play-off contraversy. The Giants path to the Tecmo Bowl was pretty smooth, with only Chicago standing a legitamate shot at stopping the powerful Giants. LT is already starting talks of repeats and dynasty.
