I wrote this website, so the views may not reflect the University or the Department's opinions.

The information contained in this website is the synthesis of my knowledge about Community Practice / Family Medicine in East Africa which I obtained during my 4 month position as a visiting lecturer at Makerere University.   I felt that putting information on a website would be useful for the following reasons:

1.  to help the M.Med students currently enrolled in the program.  (This includes providing them the internet links for BMJ, Medline, AAFP journal, Ugandan Ministry of Health, and other resources that they need for their dissertation)

2.  to help recruit Ugandan physicians to apply to the program

3.  to help attract future physicians who, like myself, come as visiting lecturers (and once they decide to come, have one convenient source of information where they are able to learn all about the department and East Africa)
