The team that got the 4th title

Marcelo Trobbiani, the best player in 1988
1988: Led by Trobbiani
Im 1988, Cobreloa's aim was nothing but the title. The club, with Sergio Stoppel as the president, renewed the team with 7 new players: Nelson Enriquez, Gustavo De Luca, Luis Ceballos, Rodrigo Santander, Orlando Mondaca, Jorge Munoz y Marcelo Leon. The fans started to dream with the 4th star.

However, the results in the pre-season tournament were terrible. As a result, the coach Jorge Luis Siviero (an ex-player of the early 80's Cobreloa) was ceased and Miguel Hermosilla takes the position. He brings two new players: Juan "Diablo" Gonzalez and the argentinian world champion Marcelo Trobianni (an excelent player who was the substitute to Maradona in 1986).

Trobbiani's arrival was big news, and the fans began to dream again. Hermosilla made some changes to the team: he made Juan Covarrubias play more to the middle, and with Trobianni, "Chicho" Garcia and Villamonte formed a midfield of an extraordinary performance.
