Destination - Rochester, NY |
Rochester is the 3rd largest metropolitan area in New York state. It is located in the upper northwest corner of the state on Lake Ontario. It is an hour from Buffalo and an hour from Syracuse.
Sports: Rochester is home for the following professional teams: Rochester Americans (aka the Amerks in the American Hockey League), the Red Wings (AAA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins), the Knighthawks and the Rattlers (lacrosse teams), and the Rhinos (soccer team).
Entertainment:
The University of Rochester is famous for the Eastman School of Music.
Food:
Buffalo, an hour's drive from Rochester, is the hometown of Buffalo Wings. Nick Taho's is famous for it's garbage plate.
Business & Industry: Rochester is home to Eastman Kodak and Bausch & Lomb headquarters.
Education: Rochester is home to a number of colleges and universities including University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Wellesley College.
