The San Francisco Bay Area is the second largest metropolitan area in California. It consists of 3 major U.S. cities...San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. I may be biased (being that I've lived in the Bay Area almost half of my life) but San Francisco is the most beautiful city in the world...even Tony

Snow, Andre Agassi & Steffi Graf, Kristi Yamaguchi, Brian Boitano, Tom Brady, John Madden, Mark McGuire, Tony La Russa.
Entertainment: Not only did Tony Bennett sing about San Francisco, it is the favorite location for Alfred Hitchcock (Vertigo, The Birds, and Shadow of a Doubt were set here while some of his other movies where inspired by the some of the Bay Area locations). Here are just some of the actors and actresses who have made their home here: Sean Penn & Robin Wright-Penn, Danny Glover, Tom Selleck, Winona Ryder. It is also where the following bands started: Journey, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Starship/Airplane, Metallica, and Green Day. La Boheme, by Baz Luhrmann, also debuted here before moving unto Broadway.
Food: The San Francisco Bay Area has thousands of restaurants many of which can be found in the city of San Francisco which is well-renowned for its cuisine. Many wineries make their home in the Bay Area most of which are in the Sonoma and Napa valleys.
Business & Industry: The Bay Area is home of Silicon Valley where many high-tech products and companies got their start. It is also where the dot-com boom began.
