Dot.coms
While in college, the Internet was just beginning to take
notice. Originally developed by computer engineers as a form of
communication, people saw the potential it had in business commerce.
"Dot.com's" were the new place to be. As new companies set up shop
all over the U.S., I started my career in direct marketing working
with such clients as Microsoft, the software giant, a leader in
Internet technology. As advertising on the Internet grew so did my
experience. Direct marketing wasn't just direct mail, DRTV,
direct-response print ads or radio. Now there are banners and
e-mails. I have since worked on a number of dot.com's including
USA.NET, AllAdvantage.com, Headlight.com, Shutterfly.com,
EA.com (Electronic Arts), and Bluelight.com. Now as dot.com's fight for financing, more
and more companies fall. For the latest on the industry visit http://www.fuckedcompany.com/.
