Many, many thanks to all who participated in Saturday's highly successful Plant Exchange. The turnout was great despite threatening weather. Special thanks to Mary Alice Cook who purchased and positioned eight pre-exchange publicity signs at eight, high-traffic areas off Dixie Hwy., I-75, and Main Street. This sister literally put her life on the line for Garden Club! She nearly lost it during the post exchange sign retrieval stop at the I-75 Clarkston Exit due to wet, slippery grass on the verge. Happily, we lost only one sign, probably due to high winds at the I-75 Bordine's exit. Look for it around there. It's green on white. Special thanks also to Mary Jane Scharfenkamp for the publicity in the Clarkston News Wednesday before the exchange & the photographer who showed up during the exchange. Thanks to Louise Mauti's son, Tom & his wife (Denise?) who showed up at 2P & took home all of the remaining plants, regardless of race, color, creed, or ethnic origin, plastic bags & cardboard boxes -- all of it! -- & to "Laurine" (Main Street resident with Santa Claus on front porch) who hung around to answer questions. More thanks to the rain storms that helped clean up our mess as nobody thought to bring brooms. To all: Good Show! Linda Meadors
