common ground is produced by participants of CIEE-Thailand, a community-based study abroad program in Northeast Thailand. This semi-annual publication is a forum for the voices of grassroots communities in the Global South and United States. We believe these voices, presented through common ground’s features, profiles, and artistic endeavors, are a neccessary guide in a quickly globalizing world. common ground is a place where we, the next generation, and our readers can continue to explore power dynamics informing issues of the enviroment, human rights, and development.We hope that this effort will help build solidarity amongst grassroots communities and lead to a more just and participatory world.
