Welcome
to the project “Know Your Money”.
This is a project done by a group of The Chinese High
School’s students in Secondary Three. The project is currently participating in the school’s
Projects’ Day competition.
Money
is something everybody uses nowadays.
In our society, practically everything revolves around
money, so much so that it has already became but part of our lives.
In reality though, how many people actually understand
the significance of the notes and coins which they used?
The purpose
of this project therefore is to help average Singaporeans,
money collectors and students understand the history of
Singapore through a different medium – Singapore’s
currency.
We want to use money as a teaching tool for history of
Singapore's nation building.
The
links you see on the left are the fruits of our hard work. Going through the website will help you understand not only
what the different pictures on the Singapore currency
symbolizes, but also of the interesting laws of Singapore
currency which not many of the public know about and also the
security features of the latest Portrait series notes.
There is also a write-up on the Asian Money Fair 2002
which we went to before work on the project commenced.
A forum has also been set up for you, our viewers, to
give some constructive comments.
They will be greatly appreciated by us and will aid us
in the improvement of our site.
Once
again, we welcome you to the site and hope that you have a
wonderful time here. Happy
surfing!
