| Yeah OK, so it's been almost two years since I bought the truck. Most of you are here because you've been hearing about it and waiting to see it for far too long; these things take time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Quick History - I bought the truck as you see it in the BEFORE pictures for $140.00. I was rough, it was Griffined (haggard), it had been painted with interior latex white paint with a roller (no joke)...BUT! - it was complete and it ran (sorta). My pop says I can restore it at his welding shop and offers to help...and help he did. Aside from getting a restoration done, my Dad and I had a lot of fun working together on this (outside of the "Look Mother-$#!@*&"s and flying middle fingers) - something I'd like to do with my son/daughter if I get the chance. By and large - my dad, myself and a couple of friends did all of the work. Naturally, we farmed-out (no punn intended) a few things like the rebuilding of the radiator, chrome-plating/polishing and some of the more gnarly body work on the cab. But - - by and large, we did it ourselves. If you've got the tools, the time and a little bit of dough, you can too. A Little Bit of News - While I've been working on my truck, my pop had been restoring a 1940 Studebaker. With my project 97% complete and his 98%, we seem to have found two more restorations in line; A 1937 Pontiac and a 1946 Dodge Businessman's coupe. Both are at the shop and in dire need of restorations. It's no so much that we want to, we have to. Here we go again. A couple of photos of a 1937 Pontiac and a 1947 Dodge Businessman's Coupe are HERE to give you an idea of what the finished products might look like (somewhat). |
