| After doing all of the rough body work, the pieces were primed in this black primer. Odd how close I thought I was to painting when I took this picture. It would be 3 full months of sanding, spot-filling, priming and drinking before we'd actually be ready to paint. Below are some of the body pieces that had undergone extensive sanding, screening, massaging, washing, block therapy -- all with the utmost in gentility and love. Man - I take this stuff too seriously. |

| For my father - the bullnose would become his prized piece of the truck. Both he and I spent a lot of time working, re-working, re-re-working to make sure it was perfect. I preferred the top of the cab that rolls in every direction possible. In the end - the bull-nose came out looking awesome but the jury is still out on the cab pending final assembly. |

| My father's silhouette with a backdrop of the cab ready for paint. See how the top of the cab rolls left, rolls right, rolls forward, rolls back and all the angles meet up at the two corners. Vintage stealth technology - you wouldn't see this turn-up on radar and, if you did, I suspect it wouldn't be going more than 52 miles per hour. |

| The front fenders are also pretty damn cool. I like the lines of these old trucks with the pointed nose and rolling acreage of fenders and hood. I got the nick name of "Spot-Putty Kid" after obsessively spotting, sanding and priming every little blemish, scratch, line, shadow, hair, molecule I could find. In the end - it was worth it. My dad got the nickname of "Shorty" and "Short-Cut" but that is for another phase of restoration and, as such, on another page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
