A picture of the cab and chassis before being taken apart. I sanded the cab down to the metal exposing over 50 years of dings, dents, damage and promise. Also shown are the windshield frame and glass (to be used as templates for new windows). The first big debate was whether or not to tint the windows. I was against it, my pop in favor. We installed tinted windows at the end of September. At this writing, I am being pressured to pin-stripe the rims. I agreed to a satin black pin-stribe on satin black rims but my dad didn't fall for it. Maybe I can get him to put the pin-stripe under the hubcaps.

The last picture of the cab and chassis before they were separated for the first time in over 51 years. Note the bumper bracket missing on the passenger side. Some real juicy spaghetti welds were holding the bumper on that side. We still haven't built a replacement.

The cab hangs in the air, now separated from the chassis; both need lots of work. If you include me behind the camera, this is a pretty good picture of those that volunteers sweat, space, smarts and style to the effort. Getting the cab off was made easy with the use of the lift. If you have the means, I highly suggest you pick one up. I was nervous getting the cab off. You should have seen me with the cab in the air after the bodywork and paint were done. I kept saying "Slow Down! Slow Down!". All went well. Next, it was on to cab work.
