An RPG Group like no other ...
IPNH is really a nickname that I kind of gave our group, since we never really gave ourselves a name, and it's one of the funniest things ever said around the table. (See the Quote page, it'll make more sense.) Our group was based (sadly) out of Greeley, where, at the time, we almost all lived and attended the University of Northern Colorado. Greeley is a tiny farming community town out in the middle of nowhere with hardly anything to do, which means one thing - lots of pent up ... well, just about everything. What this comes down to is that we had an oddly condusive environment for great roleplaying - i.e. great sts/dms/gms/whatever and players. Lots of creativity, imagination, smartasses, and people who have too much time to read books and plan long, drawn out campaigns. But that's what's so much fun about it! We usually met on Saturday nights at Justin and Tabbs' house, although we have been known to randomly have a game on some odd night we all happen to have free. We had a tendency to do mostly White Wolf systems, such as Vampire and Changeling, although we have been known to do the occasional game of AD&D ... And don't even get us started on our Talisman fixation ...
The group was made up of a fluctuating number of regulars, between 4 and 7 of us, and once in a while we even get visitors who join in for a 'quick one.' In later years, older members were slowly replaced by Parker People, but in the heyday of the IPNH, these were the most usual pirates that can be found at table:
Justin - Just rub his belly or his head - if he starts purring, he loves you. Possibly the most 'popular' ST, Justin loves Changeling but will storytell everything from Vampire to H.O.L.E., just give him a few moments to pull it out of nowhere - never ceases to amaze me. He complains that he never gets to play, even though when he does play, he whines that he wants to be storytelling. Explains him, don't it? (Just Kiddin', J ;)
Tabbatha - Also known as Tab, Tabbs, and so forth. She gets up, eats breakfast, kicks some ass, has lunch, kicks some more ass, reads a book, kicks ass, and so forth. Look out boys! Tabbs' characters are always the ones to shake things up, and I have always found that they will know more than your characters do about what is going on - no matter what. And when she gets into character, she gets into character. She's hardcore. Just don't give her a bow and arrow.
Vance - Death, death, death, death, death, death, death, death, Lunch ... Keep the guns away from this one, he gets too giddy. Vance loves his Vampire - he's run two Chronicles, they've both been V:tM, and highly entertaining. But we finally got him in and enjoying Changeling! (It's a miracle! No it's not.) Excellent at storytelling, he's more of a hardass ST than anyone else I've played with yet - which is a good thing. A most worthy player, even though he's worthless.
BK - Also known as 'Bad Idea' BK, or 'I Think I'll Give the ST Ideas' BK. BK just joined us of late (meaning in the last few months). He is so great to have around the table! He's a font of information (BK, we're on a huge flying ship. What are the defenses? Go!), and he's a kick ass player. I mean, who else could play Pox, a Malkavian with multiple personalities, many of which have full character sheets? I mentioned that was looking forward to him actually STing. Well, let's just say he kicks just as much ass as he does as a character player ...
Piper - Player of the most detailed characters I have ever met. Piper is straightline Changeling, but will put up with us wanting to play Vampire and so forth. ;) She looooves her Changeling, though. If you ask her opinion, she will tell you that she's a Pooka who's hung around too much with Satyrs. At least, I think that's what she'll tell you. Also, she and I are the charter members of the Society for the Use of Mini Dice. Bitches.
Eric - Hope I spelled his name right. He holds the record for living the farthest away as a regular member in our group. He's wacky, but then, who among us isn't? Eh? Eh?? Why he would want to drive an hour to Greeley every weekend to play should speak for how much he likes us ... or at least how good the RPing was. As for expounding on his character and so forth, I'd have to think about it and get back to you on that. All I can say about him in short is he's a pretty cool kid, drives really fast, and looooves his music.
Morgan - And then there's me. I've done Storytelling once, and I really enjoy it, but I love playing. Of course, I always have to remember to -ask- what the Diff is before I roll. And pay attention to the ST so he doesn't have to repeat himself. And try not to knock Mountain Dew all over other people's sheets. And pick up my dice every ten minutes because I drop them all over. I don't know what the others would tell you about my RP skills or I'd write them here. Maybe I'll take a poll and post it later.
Well, that's us in a general nutshell. So ... Are those potato wedges?
