The 5th Pass Plotter Weyr ...
too much fun in an alternate timeline
Plot: (Plotting, Plotter, to Plot) To engage in the action of devising ideas that will send characters into headspins, twists, turns, and loopdeloops in order to reach a goal over long, drawn out periods of time. (Plot must always be capitalized, to emphasize the ... well, Plottiness of it.)
Plotter: A threadwriter who is overly imaginative, loves drama, and is willing to sacrifice anything, including a character , to a Plot.
So, once upon a time, there was a group of friends who belonged to several of the same online Weyrs. They were a special breed of Pern fans: Plotters to the bone. Anyways, some of the Plotters decided to make an alternate timeline Weyr which veered so far from kosher that even Anne McCaffrey herself was not too pleased with its premise. Nevertheless, the Plotters perservered, and so StarShine Weyr was born. StarShine was built on the ruins of Fort Weyr (told you!), which was deserted many Turns before, in the face of an unexpected Fifth Pass. Many strange ideas and Plots came out of StarShine, everything from Rogue Dolphineers to Holds breaking away from the Weyrs to defend themselves, misfit Holds and acting dragons, and anything you could think of (I mean, reason doesn't even rule much here). We play through email, in chatrooms on arranged days, and also have a zine done via file attachment. I was one of the charter Plotters, a deviant partner in developing the Rogues, as well as the owner of the founder and Holder of Shady Vale Hold. Due to demands in my later college years, I parted from StarShine. However, I have returned to resurrect all but one of my old characters (sorry, B'nnan *sniff*), and make a few new as well. Things have developed, but not much has 'changed,' per se. Starshine is still the same place I loved to play in Turns ago.
As of now, this is more of a tribute page than anything else, as StarShine has gone relatively silent in the last year, but who knows. Everything makes comebacks in its own time, perhaps StarShine shall rise anew ...
