25/05/05:
An official Japanese Sonic website, Sonic Channel, has been launched.
Sonic Mobile, a mobile phone version of Sonic the Hedgehog (sans special stages) will be bundled with Panasonic's VS3 phone.
At E3, Sega announced Sonic Rush and Sonic Gems Collection. A Sega demo for the Xbox 360, including Sonic, was shown behind closed doors.
30/08/04:
Fox Kids has begun airing episodes 27 to 39 of Sonic X in Europe at 7:30 and 4:00. Unusually, these episodes have not yet aired in the US.

Due to Sega's restructuring as a result of being bought out by Sammy, Sonic Team has been re-absorbed into the main company. The name will still be used, however. Because of this, Sonic Team.com is closing down. Sonic Team has produced a new album as their last project, with music from their various games.

Today is the 13th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog's release. Hopefully Sonic won't have to go through puberty.

Sonic Team's Sonic Advance 3 website has been updated. It now has information on the first four zones, and Sonic's tag combinations with the other characters.

14/05/04: Sega has officially announced Sonic DS (working title). It hasn't been mentioned how related it is to the demo.

12/05/04:
A demo featuring Sonic has appeared at the E3 trade show. Simply titled Sonic E3 Demo, the game is for the new Nintendo DS. The basic premise is to make Sonic run as fast as possible, while special effects are triggered as you speed up. It's no game itself, but it shows Sega's interest in the system.

Sonic Heroes is going to be released on the PC, and Sonic Mega Collection is to be ported over to the Playstation 2, as Sonic Mega Collection Plus. There are apparently going to be extras to the GameCube original, but it isn't yet clear what there are. Both games have been announced ahead of the E3 trade show, where Sonic Team will exhibit them.

Sega has announced SEGA SuperStars for the Eyetoy on the Playstation 2.
The game features many Sega franchises, such as Virtua Fighter, Samba De Amigo, House of the Dead, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

In other news, THQ.co.uk has uploaded a 2 minute 'trailer' of Sonic Advance 3. You need to sign up to THQ to view it, but if you don't want to, IGN, Gamespot or a site of that ilk will most likely have it available for a while.
