HORTICULTURE
Section 1
BEGINNERS:
Age under 7 years as of January 1 of current year.

Class

  1. Garden Flower Specimen; 3 blooms same variety in clear glass container.
  2. Seed Mosaic. Picture made with seeds, all natural no coloring
  3. Caricature: Fruit and/or vegetable. All natural materials. No soft/leafy vegetables. Fruit: only oranges and apples.
  4. Garden Specimen: Flower or Vegetable. One per exhibit.
  5. Houseplant: Growing in container for at least three months.

Section 2
JUNIORS:

Ages 8-13 as of January 1 of current year.

Class

  1. Seed Mosaic - Picture made with seeds, all natural no coloring
  2. Garden flower Specimens: 3 blooms same variety in clear glass container
  3. Garden Vegetable Specimen*
  4. Caricature: Fruit and/or vegetable. All natural materials. No soft/leafy vegetables. Fruit: only oranges &apples.
  5. Hanging basket: Grown in container for at least two months. Indoor/outdoor specimen

Section 3
SENIORS:

Ages 14-19 as of January 1 of current year.

Class

  1. Garden Flower Specimens: 3 blooms same variety in clear glass container
  2. Garden Vegetable Specimens*
  3. Caricature: Fruit and/or vegetable. All natural materials. No soft/leafy vegetables. Fruit: only oranges & applies.
  4. Terrarium: Plant materials must be tropical and/or house plants growing in container at least 6 weeks
*Vegetable Specimens - small 3 same variety, large - 1 per plate
