Young Ambrassadors Contest Winners

ENTRY RULES

  1. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 19 as of January 1 of current year.
  2. Applicants must be a member in good standing of a youth organization participating in the Junior Fair activities or an active member of the Junior Fair Board of Cuyahoga County.
  3. Each applicant must complete the Junior Fair Young Ambassadors contest entry form.
  4. A one-page typed essay explaining your involvement in school, the Cuyahoga County Fair and other community activities must accompany the form.
  5. Applicants must perform at least six hours of service involvement with the Junior Fair Committee, including meetings, sub-Committee tasks, and work sessions to be eligible. This must be verified by a Director or Superintendent before submitting the application.
  6. The Junior Fair Young Ambassadors are required to assist in
    many activities and award presentations during the Fair week. Any winner of the Young Ambassadors contest who is declared to be unavailable to perform such duties will forfeit their title and the runner-up will be crowned (special considerations will be made for conflicting Fair related activities).
  7. Unless otherwise notified, all applicants should report to the Junior Fair Bldg. on the Fairgrounds on Monday of Fair week at 4:30 p.m. for their personal interview.
  8. All applicants and winners will be introduced to the public on Monday of Fair week at approximately 7:30 p.m.
  9. At the conclusion of Fair week (and if all duties have been met) a cash award of $50 will be given to each winner.
  10. Former winners are not eligible to enter.

    (Contest limited to 14 applicants – 7 females and 7 males)
Each applicant will be judged on the following areas:
  • Personality: ability to converse, poise, voice, facial expression and grooming.
  • Participation within the group which you represent, including your knowledge of that organization.
  • Fair Activities: your knowledge of the Cuyahoga County Fair and participation in Junior Fair projects.
  • Related Activities: involvement in school, church and community activities not associated with the Fair.
  • Your typewritten profile.

*NOTE:A conservative dress code is strongly recommended.
