The U.S. trade deficit with Brazil was $6.7 billion in 2003, an increase of $3.3 billion from $3.4 billion in 2002. U.S. goods exports in 2003 were $11.2 billion, down 9.4 percent from the previous year.
Corresponding U.S. imports from Brazil were $17.9 billion, up 13.3 percent. Brazil is currently the 15 th largest export market for U.S. goods.
U.S. exports of private commercial services (i.e., excluding military and government) to Brazil were $5.0 billion in 2002 (latest data available) and U.S. imports were $1.7 billion.
