The building of the site was a way of demonstrating the skills gained while on the
Web Development course at Microtech Computer Services.
Although we could have applied everything we had learned (e.g. lots of animation, frames, ...)
we didn't want to end up with a site where the style overwhelmed the content.
We decided to give the content the attention, basing the design around it.
After brainstorming we came up with the idea to do a spoof magazine aimed at
twenty/thirty-somethings based upon numerous teenage magazines like J17.
After we had reviewed a couple of these teenage magazines,
we realized that they were so funny already, that they were beyond spoofing.
However, the idea of creating a magazine remained.
Using this format meant that we could accommodate the various ideas put forward for articles.
"Believe me you" was a phrase frequently used by one of the trainers on the course.
We had trouble trying to decide on a title for the magazine, eventually this was picked
as we couldn't agree on anything else.
Two reasons:
"Eunice" our company logo was designed by Ivan and christend by Frankie who came up with the sheep / ewe motif.
With input from each contributer, Ivan designed a logo and buttons for each page
to reflect its content.
Some of the graphics used were derived from a number of sources:
