This is often a question. In SE Asia the weather is suitable for motorcycle touring all year round because the temperature seldom drops below 30 Degrees Celsius. In recent years we have not experienced a typical "rainy season" between May and November.  I personally prefer this season because of lush bright green vegetation, magnificent waterfalls, clean rain-washed roads and ...no tourist hoards. Occasional rain shower is a blessing that has a cooling effect.

Avalon
Ride with us and you will come away loving Thailand as much as we do.

If variety is the spice of life, Thailand is its country of origin. A riot of colour meets the eye from shoreline to city sights – the sparkling white of sugar sand beaches, the hues of blue in a shimmering sea, lush greens of tangled jungle tumbling down hillsides, bright pinks of bougainvilleas cascading down walls, red – roofed pagodas, mud brown canals and the saffron robes of much photographed monks… All these and more bedazzle the first-time visitor. Described by many as Asia’s most exotic country, its favoured destinations encompass the calm of coconut islands and the neon-lit nightlife of teeming resorts. A shoppers’ paradise, its browsing and bartering venues span the spectrum from air-conditioned comfort of sophisticated stores, to old-world shops with jumbled gems of merchandise and sampan stalls on the floating market of “klong” waterways. Dining out is de rigueur to sample and savour the cuisine. Spiced in degrees from moderate to fiery, ‘bland’ no more registers here than in any other aspect of lifestyle

Touring with Avalon

Everyone who enjoys motorcycle touring is welcome on our tours.

EVERGREEN FOREST - WINDING ROADS

We strongly believe in low impact or rather positive impact of tourism at Avalon. Broadly speaking this means that we try to minimize the negative aspects of tourism on the local cultures and environments that we visit and highlight the positive. After all is there a better way to see the country face to face than by motorcycle? Yes, maybe walking or cycling - but it would take ages to visit all the places we do. And no coach tour can give you the feeling of being so close to the nature and people either.

The region

SE Asia - the region of exotic beauty

SHOPPING AT STALLS

It is easy to fall in love with SE Asia once you have met her people; experienced the colour and excitement, the heat and vitality, the sounds and smells of a region that is second to none. The overriding impression is one of timelessness, of traditions unchanged through centuries, of a harmonious place. Old sits serenely by new, simple enhances elaborate, and an innate gracefulness touches all facets of life. The former Siam is the present ‘land of smiles’, where the locals are charming and visitors are charmed… again and again...If you love riding motorcycle, join our tour and you will not just see SE Asia, you will live it!.

And finally

You will not have a care in the world

From the moment our taxi driver picks you up at Bangkok Airport you will be in good hands. With eight years of experience organizing motorcycle tours around Thailand we carefully planned each tour to include safe, spectacular and scenic routes with beautiful panoramic views and expose riders to region's culture, history and cuisine. All the while, you will travel in the simple way that respects the environment and culture of your host country.

STRAIGHT STRETCHES IN PETCHABUN HILLS

"I just returned after completing the Grand Tour with Avalon. Previously I had been on two tours in Vietnam and last October I rode solo for 5-days in Kanchanaburi Province in Thailand. All the tours and my solo ride were different in many aspects, but I thoroughly enjoyed each of them. Grand Tour is probably less demanding than rides in Bolivia and Peru. It was certainly less physically demanding than either of the two tours I took in Vietnam.

The guide can make or break the overall enjoyment of the trip. I can say without any reservation that BJ won't disappoint you in his hospitality, planning or execution of the ride. He speaks the Thai language, knows the customs, and has developed this tour to encompass all the various types of roadways in Thailand. His attention to the details impressed me; he never had to refer to a map even if circumstances forced us to alter the planned route. I felt I didn't have a care in the world; never had to worry about where to sleep or where to eat. I looked forward to the ride each day.

I might add that I am taking the Mekong Tour this October. One last comment; the Honda bikes BJ uses are perfect for Thailand. We often cruised at 100-110 kph, and the bike still had the fire for passing. If you want more info than I have addressed, drop me a line and I'll try to answer any and all questions. Bottom line: without hesitation, I strongly recommend BJ and Avalon.
