If you cannot find the site you require, please remember the following points:

The a-z list above only deals with sites as the work progresses. Go to the Area Index pages, accessed from the main map, to get full listings of future sites to be included.
This website only deals with those zones open to the public. Other sites referred to in academic sources, for example, may not be officially open.
This website only deals with zones in Mexico, and many Mayan sites, such as Tikal, are to be found in other countries in Central America.
A limit had to be made as to the definition of "ruins" and must contain buildings of some kind. Therefore, the rock painting sites in the north of the country and the artifact caves in the Mayan region, for example,  are not covered.
The spelling of sites frequently changes from one source to another. Try to scan the Areas as closely as possible to find the site required. Where possible, alternative name references are given in the a-z list above.
There were a handful of sites, over the course of the investigations for this project, that either proved difficult to get to for certain reasons or mysteriously did not exist. Any questions about all of these minor sites, should be addressed to the e-mail address given at the foot of the Home Page.
