Car wash to raise funds for funeral costs
Teenager died after patrol car hit him

Friends and family of 14-year-old Justin Ames, who died Aug. 22 when he was struck by a sheriff's patrol car responding danvers used car to a disturbance call, will hold a car wash today in Yucaipa to help buy a used car with funeral costs.
The event is scheduled between 9 and 4 p.m. at Danny's Pizza, 33089 Yucaipa Blvd.
Justin and a friend were on their bikes pedaling to the YMCA to shoot hoops when the 6:30 p.m. accident occurred at Ninth Street and Drummond Avenue in Highland.

The Sheriff's Department is conducting an in-house car rental investigation of the death. The names of the deputies driving the cars have not been released.
