Annual car show returns to downtown

There are certain activities and hobbies that seem to cultivate their own communities, and when it comes to car enthusiasts - be it car soup observer or participant - that philosophy certainly applies.
For the 14th straight year, the Col. Cody Cruise car show, partnered with the Platte Valley Car Club, will return to North Platte this weekend to show off a variety of vehicles, ranging from hot rods old indiana car plates to classics to modern modifieds.
According to the president of the Col. Cody Cruise car show, Todd Freeburg, activities officially begin for the participants this evening with the show's kickoff party at the Holiday Inn Express, but it's also a chance for people to get used car pittsburgh a sneak peek of what's to come.
"A lot of cars will already be in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express by Friday evening and people are more than welcome to come by and get a sneak peek and hang out with us," said Freeburg.
Freeburg said that 125 vehicles have already pre-registered for the event, but he expects somewhere around 200 vehicles total by Saturday's main event in downtown North Platte.
"We were a little worried about gas prices this year, but it doesn't appear that is going to hurt us," said Freeburg.
The vehicles Classic Car Blue Book Values will toyota car dealers begin filling up downtown parking spaces Saturday morning around 8 a.m. and the Show and Shine portion of the event will last until around 4 p.m. There will plenty of prizes awarded to participants. Freeburg said there would be 130 trophies handed out for a variety of categories, hertz used car sales which includes the "Hard Luck" trophy for the person who had the toughest time getting to the event.
Voting is limited to the participants, but the viewing of the many styles of mean machines is, of course, open to everyone, and everyone is encouraged to attend the festivities, which includes food vendors on site. Freeburg said the show also includes a theme electric kids car plans each year, with this free toddler car seat year's theme honoring the upcoming holiday of Halloween.
"People seem to really enjoy our themes and go all-out," said Freeburg. "Enjoying one another and meeting new people is what it's all about and that's the biggest thing I get out of it. People enjoy coming to North Platte and the fact that we do this downtown makes it a lot of fun for everyone."
Pre-registration indicates that participants are coming from several enterprise rent a car richmond va different states, including Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Iowa and Missouri, with the longest drive being about 700 miles.
The Col. Cody Cruise car show includes an enthusiastic group of car lovers who look Car Enterprize Rental forward to their annual visit with one another. That, Freeburg said, is the heart and soul of the event.
"I've been to car shows where there are 500 cars and yeah, it's great to see all the cars, but there's no personality to them like there is at our shows," he said. "Everybody looks forward to seeing one another again and we always thrifty car rentals welcome new members and get to know each other. I try to shake hands with each and every person."
Local businesses continue to help sponsor the san diego car stereo event, car antenna parts which draws large crowds into the downtown area for a day of good food, good fun, "and good shopping," said Freeburg.
Last year, the group presented Mayor Keith Richardson with a completely remodeled 1930 Model A Ford Victoria. The vehicle already belonged to Richardson, but volunteers from the club had taken the car 18 months Mobiole Car Scratch Repair Melbourne prior to last year's presentation and unveiled it to the mayor at last year's kickoff party.
Richardson, an avid car enthusiast himself, was brought to tears when his sparkling blue car battery Ford drove around the corner during the surprise presentation.
Freeburg likes to say that the Col. Cody Cruise car show has a heart all its own and that presentation was a pretty good indication that Freeburg speaks the truth.
"[Richardson has] been a long-time friend to us and a long-time hot rod enthusiast," Freeburg said last year. "He's a true hot rodder and we were happy car backgrounds to do this."
The mayor, eyes filled with tears, said it car rentals orlando fl had been 23 long years since he had seen his 1930 classic on the road.
