Week two with no car
By Carrie Petersen
Albany Democrat-Herald
No one at the paper is making me give up my car for a month. The surrender of my vehicle was made willingly and without outside pressure.
That’s the answer to one of the many questions I’ve been asked since starting my car-free month.
I’m approaching the end of week two in this experiment to see if a person living in Albany can do so without a car. Also, I’m hoping to save money at the pumps and keep the world a little greener.
Another question I’ve been asked often is, “Are you still riding your bicycle?”
Yes. I’ve been biking and walking and catching a few rides from people, but I haven’t driven my own car.
On my blog, www.democratherald.com/
dhblogs/carrie_petersen, I’ve been writing Low Insurance Rates Car In England about my day-to-day adventures. A number of readers have posted comments many from bicycle commuters offering support and encouragement.
A couple of people have chided me for conducting this experiment at the end of summer rather than the middle of winter.
Fair enough. I fully admit that I started Aug. 25 while the sun was still shining. But starting a life without a car during our Oregon winter Ford Car Keys Replacement would be enough to scare off the bravest of souls.
Another blog reader brushed off my experiment and suggested I write after carrying home a 50-pound bag of dog food from the store.
OK. But I’m not sure what I’d do with 50 pounds of dog food since I don’t have a dog.
The point of this experiment is to not drive. It’s not about making my life more difficult or trying to live someone else’s life.
I’m just trying to find out if I can live my everyday life without my car. And so far, tampa car I can.
Last week while riding my bicycle to work, I thought this was going to be a long month.
This week, I’m thinking one month without my car doesn’t seem so bad and car pc maybe I car drifting videos can keep it up longer.

" Carrie,
I think your contradicting yourself. In this article you state your doing it for yourself not for everyone living in Albany, well how can that be when in your first paragraph, this are your own words. "Im approaching the end of week two in this experiment to see if a rental car coupons person living in Albany can do so without a car. " Then following down in the article car seat cuddle bag here is another direct quote from you "The point of this experiment is to not drive. Its not about making my life more difficult or trying to live someone elses life." so with that I think now that the heat is on such as the person stock car racing saying try carrying a race car clipart 50 lb of dog food, or if you dont have a dog 50lbs of grocerys will do, pet car seat covers or try riding your bike to Corvallis, and Salem from Albany like a lot of people do, Then you will get the true statistics down to the root cause. Although with your contradicting yourself I think car dealerships in houston ms that is why your now back peddling and saying your doing it for yourself because you simply cannot do it, dont do a story if you cant ful fill the expirement.

" I agree that it is very easy to ride this time of year, lots of good weather, lots of daylight. Please commit to repeating this "experiment" sometime this winter for one month for a more balanced test. "
