Discipline: Saddle Seat Equitation
By: Blair Finney |

The rider's blue pleasure suit looks striking with the bay Arabian.
When showing, this is the unique attire generally worn by the Saddle Seat Equitation rider:
Equitation Suit:
This is a required piece of clothing for the rider in many equitation shows. It is a 3-piece suit that consists of a matching jacket, vest and pants.
Pleasure Suit:
Similar to the equitation suit, this consists of a vest and a set of jacket and pants in contrasting colors instead of matching ones.
Day Coat (Pleasure Jacket):
In pleasure classes, the rider may choose to show in his equitation suit, or to wear a day coat. Usually made of silk, a popular option to showing in an equitation suit is to find a pleasure jacket in a color that has undertones of another color.
Kentucky Jodphurs:
A little like the huntseat jodphurs, kentucky jodphurs are longer and have flared and angled hems. As a rule, they should hang at an angle towards the rider's heels, and be sufficiently long to cover the heels.
