The Official Club Magazine

A Brief History

The Yamaha Link magazine started life as a two-page newsletter way back in 1981 soon after the club's inception. The First Editor was Jack Burckhardt who was also the club founder. Jack produced the link for the first five years often with the help of Trog Woolley, one of the more active members of the time. In 1986 Geoff Webb took over the reigns and continued to produce the link at semi regular intervals, usually every 3 months. In 1991 he finally relinquished the Editorship over to George Sinclair who produced the Yamaha Link up until 1997. That year the position was taken over by Ross Kennedy to increased the size of the club magazine to 32 pages and published it every second month. Today, The Yamaha Link continues on as one of the best club magazines produces in South Australia.
