So ends one of my most memorable projects! It took a year, but was worth every minute and dollar spent!Michael White, Cabinet Maker. This man is truly a craftsman in every sense of the word!
. . . and he's a great friend as well! He can be reached in Tehachapi, California via telephone at: 661.823.9230
or e-mail at:
[email protected]
My good buddy, Steve! Without his welding expertise and spacious (as well as well equipped) garage, this little Tear would have nothing to sit on!. . . .or be pulled by . . . or look as great as it does with it's bumper!!
and of course, my son in law, Dan Foster! His background in aircraft helped get this project off the ground! That and his loan of many tools that I had never heard of!
and then there's Skip! This guy knows everything! He wired this puppy for me! and riveted! (His background, present and future is also in aircraft!)
Without the Following Suppliers, Where would I be??
Teardrop Fixit Shop, George Wilkerson
This guy has a lot of those hard to find parts! He is a must for any Teardrop restorer!
e-mail George at
[email protected]
Scotts Auto Body ~ didn't they do a great job?? He's a local Tehachapi Business and does a quality job!
He can be found at:

I found a great Pinstriper when I found Ron Beam! I took the Teardrop to Bakersfield and he took his time and came up with a creative, unique design! (Notice it's the outline of the original paint on the Kit?) He finished off the job with 3 litle teardrops in the bottom left hand corner of the lid ~ Linda's idea!
You can find Ron in Bakersfield, California at
4000 Easton Drive

R. W. Johnson in Auburn, California was the supplier for windows, some moldings, door handles, etc. You can find his telephone in Tales and Trails ~ oops, I lost it!!
My wheels and tires were purchased in Bakersfield, too! What else is new! I got a great deal at

My roof vent, interior lights, 12V/120V receptacles, cable TV receptacle, etc was obtained at

My neat fenders were purchased from: Bud's Brake & Wheel Parts

. . . and of course I had to have a custom made mattress! You just can't buy one that exact size. I found the folks at Mr. Mattress Bedroom Emporium more than eager to help!
3749 Ming Avenue
Bakersfield, California 93309
phone: 661.837.8155
and of course no project would be complete with Home Depot, Home Base, and various other hardware stores for screws, lumber and bits and pieces as I went!
and without all the imput and advice from the guys on the Teardrop List, I would still be dreaming about the finished product! Thanks, Guys! The credit goes to you - Grant, John, Larry, Phil, etc., etc., etc.,
and lastly, to my wife Linda, who kept track dilligently, of the expenses, created the webpage, and gave up her space in the garage so I could work on this! Although, she says she will not walk thru the snow another winter to get to her car!
