MANSFIELD, OHIO -- MAY 12, 2001:

The US Lawn Mower Racing Association/News-Journal and Telegraph Forum in Central Ohio hosted a "Lawnmower Race for Literacy" charity race in Mansfield, Ohio on May 12, 2001. Greg Honchell, Chuck Miller, and Mark Beckett made the trip representing the OMR. The race was almost rained out -- after a two-hour delay for track repairs/relocation of the track, the race went off with great success! The results were:

MENDOTA, ILLINOIS - JUNE 3, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted two regionals on June 3, 2001 -- The STA-BIL Jones Small Engine Regional and the Central Illinois Regional. This is the 7th year that the USLMRA has held races at this venue, paired with the Mendota Classic Car Show. Mark Beckett, Greg Honchell, and Chuck Miller attended these races. LISLE, ILLINOIS - JULY 4, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the Firecracker Regional -- Eyes to the Skies Balloon Festival. Greg Honchell from Urbana, Ohio, made the trip to the Lisle with the "Gates Belt Special" in the Factory Experimental Class with some great success! The his final results are:

LOWELL, NEW YORK - July 21, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the 5th Annual Central New York Regional in Lowell, New York. Greg Honchell from Urbana, Ohio, made the trip to the Big Apple and kicked some grass! His final results are:

KISKATOM, NEW YORK - JULY 22, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the STA-BIL Hudson Valley Regional in Kiskatom (Catskill), New York on July 22, 2001. Greg Honchell was taking home the hardware once again after taking home the checkered flag. Way to go Greg! His final results are:

MARYSVILLE, OHIO - JULY 28, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the Union County Regional on July 28, 2001. This is the home of the All Ohio Balloon Festival, but at the horse track versus on the grass as the usual location. Dan Shaw (Westerville), Mark Beckett (Ashtabula), Chuck Miller (Marion), Richard Dunlavy (Cable), and Greg Honchell (Urbana) attended the race from the Ohio Mower Racers. The final results are:

CELINA, OHIO - JULY 29, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the Ohio Regional on July 29, 2001. Mark Beckett (Ashtabula), Chuck Miller (Marion), Richard Dunlavy (Cable), and Greg Honchell (Urbana) attended the race from the Ohio Mower Racers. The final results are:

MARYSVILLE, OHIO - AUGUST 18, 2001:

The USLMRA hosted the 4th Annual Buckeye Regional at the All Ohio Balloon Festival in Marysville, Ohio. Chuck Miller always designs the track and he didn't let us down once again! Dan Shaw (Westerville), Mark Beckett (Ashtabula), Chuck Miller (Marion), Richard Dunlavy (Cable), Greg Honchell (Urbana), and husband/wife team of Larry and Trish Potenza (Grove City) attended the race from the Ohio Mower Racers. It should be noted that during the heat race that Chuck Miller and Greg Honchell had an accident which put Chuck out of the race and Greg Honchell into an ambulance. Greg had cut his leg pretty bad down by the ankle which they thought was his main artery because the bleeding could not be stopped. In fact, we had to practically beg Greg to leave with the ambulance because he was so worried about his points. On a funnier note (if there is one in this story) Greg was pretty horked off that he didn't make it back in time to race in the trophy dash! You see, he was leading for the point standings and needed to be in the race to keep ahead of the game. Goes to show ya what a little competition can do to you! The final results are:
