Knit Items
All items on this page are hand-knitted by me and occasionally my cat. I really enjoy knitting and found that it's a great activity to do while watching tv. I do it beacuse it's fun and because the cat likes it. She basically expects me to sit and knit every night after I come home from work and gets pouty if I don't. She curls up in my lap and plays with the kneedles for a while, then goes to sleep. How cute!!
The proceeds from these items (which isn't much) goes straight to the Corner Table Soup Kitchen in my community. The Corner Table is a soup kitchen ministry located at the corner of Main St and West 2nd in Newton, North Carolina. It provides a hot meal four times a week for any man, woman, or child who is in need. No questions asked, just come hungry. The soup kitchen is non-profit and not government funded. Funding comes from local churches and the kindness of the community. You can visit their website here: The Corner Table.
Every Christmas the Corner Table collects items to make bags for our guests to help them get through the winter. Items include (but are not limited to) blankets, scarves, hats, gloves, soap, shampoo, and non-perishable food items. I thought I would give the community at large a chance to participate. All items not sold on this page will be donated this coming winter. They were a hit with the guests last winter. Thanks for your help!
